This morning I woke up feeling like it was a first day of school. I found a fabulous dress the other day as I wandered through the lanes and it was hanging ready for me to face today in:
I was slightly nervous and excited as I got ready this morning not knowing quite what to expect. I felt like this because today was my first day as a Marketing Executive for Changefirst Ltd.
The day was a success. I felt very grown up carpooling with Tom to work. There is just something about carpooling that seems adult. I dropped Tom at Amex then continued on to my cute office in the country without getting lost or ruining Tom's car.
I spent the majority of my time today learning. I learnt about the history of the company, the products we offer, who they are offered to, the marketing strategies that are in place and the marketing goals I will be helping with. I started reading the Md's book that is about to be published. The book explains the change management methodology our MD created, and this methodology is what the business is founded on. The book is surprisingly easy to read and quite enjoyable.
My boss, the Head of Marketing and Partners, treated me to lunch at a restaurant in the nearby village Lindfield. I enjoyed a delightful duck salad whilst chatting away with my boss who ate a delicious looking tiger prawn salad. He lives in Scotland and comes down to the southeast for work three days a week; he has two adorable children and a wife who's also in marketing.
I had an opportunity to get acquainted with the two ladies who were in the office today. They are very friendly. I look forward to working with them, and to meeting my other colleagues.
At the end of the day I was tired, but at the same time looking forward to going back tomorrow. I know I am going to enjoy this job very much. I am so happy for the change!
Love
