Coral Regency Final

Thanks to Dave from work who gave away his complementary tickets, last night Tom and I had a night out at the Dogs. Greyhound races that is. It was a big night too, the Coral Regency Final, televised and everything.

The Brighton & Hove Greyhound Stadium is about five minuets around the corner, very convenient. I have been to the dogs a couple of times before, but last night was the most crowded I have every seen the place. The night was a very big deal. We got there a bit late, but not too late for the most important race of the night. We put bets on for the Regency Final, a few one pound bets that is, then excitedly skipped outside for the race. Suddenly, the bell rang, the gates went down and they were off. All six dogs sprinting around the track. Shouting and cheering bellowed from the crowd. Then it was over. Dog number six, He Went Woosh, was the big winner. As were Tom and I! We actually bet on the winning dog, shocking. Really, it was Tom who decided to bet on dog six, I opted for number two, Bush Paddy who came third. We went up to redeem our prize, just under ten pounds. What a win! The next two races we also bet on the winner and in the final race we redeemed a couple of pounds from one of our dogs placing. The night was full of entertainment and something different to do on a work night. Tom and I were probably the smallest betters in the place as some people risk silly money on these skinny dogs, but we enjoyed it just as much I'm sure.

Love
