I've been unsuccessful today.
Today was my big day, the day of my UK practical driving test. And guess what.... I failed!!!!
Horrible, isn't it! (and a little embarrassing) It is a lot more difficult here than in America. They are much more picky, and I'll admit I was a bit nervous during my test.
What got me were two mini round-a-bouts. The first one I didn't even realise I had done anything wrong. Apparently at this particular round-a-bout (I still have no idea which one the test man was talking about) because it's surrounded by a lot of houses the visibility is poor and I needed to take it more slowly to have the proper observations. I was turning left and I went around it in 2nd gear like all other round-a-bouts. Test man said that because of the poor visibility I needed to go around it in 1st, practically come to a stop and make sure to observe properly. I get what he is saying, but in real life no one comes to a stop at mini round-a-bout unless a car's in the way.
The second one I knew I messed up. All would have been fine but the gear slipped. I had to slow down to get it back into 1st which meant I made the cars to the right slow down slightly.
Strike one, Strike two and I was out!
Now I have to pay their extortionate fee and take the test again. I think part of the reason why they are so picky is that these tests are like a gold mine, over £60 and the test is not even a full hour! That's really what I'm most upset about. Plus I'll have to pay my instructor for another lesson and to use his car for the test again. Silly, silly me. Why couldn't I have just passed. I know how to drive. AHHHHHHH.
Don't know when my next test will be. Online it says the next available test is at the start of June. I really want to retake it asap, so I'll call tomorrow and hopefully have some good luck.
Love
