Food with Friends

Two of my best friends from home are Brianna and Amanda.  I've known these girls since we were in Mrs Mortimer's third grade class.  The few years following Brianna and I were inseparable.  We loved to wear matching clothes and were together so often we fought like sisters.  As the three of us reached high school Amanda and I were rarely apart.  We would save our babysitting money to go shopping in the tri-cities every other week and spent all the time we weren't watching children down at the baseball field watching the boys.  After graduation the three of us went our separate ways, but we've always remained close and I love when I get to see these special girls.

Last night my mom hosted a dinner party that gave us a chance to catch up.  Both Tom and I were looking forward to seeing this group of friends.  Amanda married a year and a half ago and her husband Derek was quickly and happily welcomed into the group.  Brianna's parents were like my second parents throughout school and they joined in the fun as well.

It was a wonderful evening with a yummy meal of ham, green beans, au gratin potatoes and a pomegranate and pear salad followed by creme brule.  Delightful!  After the meal we exchanged some gifts and all too soon Brianna and her parents had to leave.  Amanda and Derek stayed a little longer giving them time to beat us at Trivial Pursuit.

I love both of these girls very much and only wish I could see them more often.

Thank you Mom for all of your work that went towards making this excellent night.

Love
