Movie night

After spending the afternoon taking Alessandra out to lunch and back to her dorm we spent a relaxing night watching films at my parents.  It was the first time all holiday that we weren't around relatives or friends.  We took advantage of the quiet in the peace of my dad's theatre room.

Tom had waited weeks for this night.  He's been dying to see Inception due to it's outstanding reviews, but as we didn't go to the theatre to view it, he insisted on waiting to watch it on my dad's large TV.  Inception definitely lived up to its reviews.  It went incredibly deep with so many layers that I was gripped to the edge of my seat the entire time.  And this is coming from a girl who in known for falling asleep in films.  The concept itself, the ability to enter the dream world, riveting!  If you haven't seen Inception rush out and rent it now, seriously it's a must see.  If you have seen it, what do you make of the ending?  Is he in a dream still or not?

With a short break and popcorn made we were ready for the second film, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Tom didn't rate this film as he thought the ending was weak.  I enjoyed it as it was easy to watch, it gave on interpretation of the banks collapsing in 2008 which was interesting and it had a bit of romance.  I agree it's not as good as Inception, but I'd say its still worth watching and who doesn't love Shia LaBeouf.

Overall good choices and a wonderful night taking it easy.

  1. Saw Inception in the theater and LOVED IT! Awhile back so I can't remember the ending, I am thinking maybe he was dreaming. Haven't see Wall Street yet - we'll have to add it to our queue.
