Holiday Bowl Victory

Last night the Huskies made history as they claimed victory in the Holiday Bowl.  Nebraska, who destroyed our team early in the season and were favourites for this competition, did not even make last nights match difficult.

Tom and I went into Seattle to watch the game at our friends Laura and Chris’ (the couple who’s wedding we went to in June.) I was excited to be with fellow Huskies who appreciate the game like I do.  A few others joined us that night to cheer our boys to victory.
I attended UW during the time our football team was near the bottom of the league.  It was disappointing to follow a loosing team, especially as they had been a very strong as I grew up.  The past year and a half, especially the latter half of this season, has seen the team starting to turn around.  All of the top teams make it into a bowl in the post season, and it’s good to see the Huskies qualify again.

Huskies scored a touchdown early in the first quarter of this Holiday Bowl and remained in the lead from there on out.   With a strong defense we were unbeatable.  Our offense was a bit weak and gave up some points, but at the end we were ahead and a win is a win.
Bow down to Washington!
Love
